Congratulations to Dr. Civan Avci for successfully defending his PhD entitled "Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8: Control of particle size, and shape and its self-assembly" in ICN2.

Prof. Paolo Falcaro visited the ICN2 this last December.

NanoUp was present in MOF2018 conference that took place from 9th to 13th of December at the University of Auckland, New Zealand

Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Amirali Yazdi for successfully defending his PhD entitled "Nanoengineering composites made of metal- and covalent-organic frameworks and inorganic nanoparticles using encapsulation techniques" in ICN2.

Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Jordi Espín for successfully defending his PhD entitled "The photothermal effect in MOFs" in ICN2.

We just published our most recent results in J. Am. Chem. Soc., using ozone for an unprecedented post synthetic merging of micropores into mesopores in MOFs.

From Australia and on a scientific Euro tour, Prof. Christian Doonan stopped by Barcelona to visit the NanoUp group at ICN2.

Researchers from NanoUp group, in collaboration with researchers from University of Malaga, just published an article in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. In this work we demonstrate that swelling behaviour of flexible MOF crystals can be used to create a self‐folding polymer films that undergoes reversible shape transformations upon exposure to polar solvents and vapours, exhibiting shape-memory effect.

Our Colleague Dr. Javier Pérez Carvajal gave a great talk on "Composite salts in porous Metal-Organic Frameworks for adsorption heat transformation" at the 1st European symposium on sorption science, Vienna, Austria. Good job!

Follow NanoUp group on Twitter @WeAreNanoUp and keep up-to-date with publications, research and news about MOFs, composites, nanoparticle and way more.

Our latest article published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS) was highlighted in the Science magazine “Research in other journals” section. The article reported a new design approach to access novel isoreticular MOFs.

The spin-off hits the headlines again as an innovative approach to fight autoimmune diseases.

Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Luis Carlos Garzón Tovar for successfully defending his PhD entitled "Confining Reactions in a Droplet: Synthesis of MOFs, COFs and Composites using Spray Drying" in ICN2.

NanoUp group wants to congratulate our colleague Dr. Thais Grancha for receiving a two years "Juan de la Cierva formación" postdoctoral fellowship. The impressive scientific records of this young researcher attracted the attention of the jury who ranked her 2nd. Associated to our NanoUp team, we will surely reach new highs!

Congratulations Thais!

NanoUp group, in collaboration with NanoBiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group recently published a an article in Journal of Materials Chemistry A. Blanca Chocarro is the first author of a work presenting an optical CO2 sensor fabricated by integration of a self-assembled, transparent film of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) nanoparticles onto bimodal optical waveguides.

On 12th of June, Dr. Vincent Guillerm, postdoctoral fellow in NanoUp group, gave an invited talk about "Ozonolysis as a solid-gas post-synthetic tuning of porosity in Metal-Organic Frameworks" at the Materials Day at Instituto de Investigación en Energía de Cataluña (IREC).

One of the most recognized chemist, who developed the field of MOFs, visited our research group.

Congratulations to our colleague Civan Avci who takes home the Best Presentation Award from the 2018 docMOF conference.

Abraham Ayala defended on 15th of December his PhD thesis entitled “Janus-type and molecular MOF-based composites” in the ICN2.
